Doing one's best at work implies feeling secure. Feeling secure at work might seem obvious to people working in a nice, safe office.
But for some people with mobile jobs, this is not always the case. Imagine solving the dilemma of these people in an easy and inexpensive
way. Because while our Personal GPS Alarm might very well be the solution to a huge problem. For the user the device is smaller to carry
around than a packet of cigarettes.
Ironically, it seems to be the professionals whose job it is to help other people that might just find themselves in threatening
situations. Social workers, police officers and customs officials represent a few of these groups. There are also several groups of
professionals who sometimes face risks simply in the performance of their work, such as farmers, livestock breeders and forestry workers.
Some of these groups are already among our clients today. Even private individuals might be in danger. For example, people who are at
risk from kidnapping or threatening behaviour from persons under restraining orders.
What they all have in common is one important factor: they are often alone and therefore not always able to get help quickly when it
is needed in an emergency. This can certainly arouse feelings of distress and insecurity. Thankfully, this is where our GPS Personal
Alarm comes in.
The concept is a unique combination of two separate, well-known communication systems: GSM and GPS. Put very simply: the GSM system
is the tool for one-to-one communication between a person in distress and an alarm operator. The GPS system determines the position of
the person in distress once the alarm message is received.
The idea behind our GPS Personal Alarm is as simple as it is useful. All users are provided with a standard GSM mobile phone, a small
telephone module, which attaches to the phone, and a GPS unit. An action plan is drawn up to be followed in the case of an emergency
that is tailored to the specific needs of each individual client. This ensures a prompt and correct response from the alarm operator.

When the person in distress pushes the button twice, an alarm message is sent to and received by the operator. A confirmation message
is then immediately sent back to the user. The alarm operator then follows the steps agreed to in the action plan.
One major advantage of the service is that the GPS alarm operator can call the person in distress to ask for additional information
and assess the true severity of the situation.
If the person in distress is unable to answer, the telephone automatically answers after two signals, permitting the operator to
listen in on the actual emergency situation. The GPS system allows the operator to fix the position of the sender, with an error margin
of only 10 metres, making it possible to instantly and accurately establish the location of the person in distress. Once alerted to the
exact position and details of the situation, the alarm operator can then call any or all of the emergency services to ask for the
necessary assistance.
With our GPS Personal Alarm, mobile staff can now feel just as secure as office staff. Regardless of profession, location or time of day.
